Understanding song lyrics

In Literacy we have been learning about song lyrics. we listened to one song. they were by  Ben E King and the song is called stand by me. we then looked at the lyrics and what they meant. the song is about someone being afraid of the dark but it's ok good my darling I was beside them

health

this week in health we are learning about personal hygien. we needed to make a decision if we were going to make a comic or a animation I found it challenging to use the triangles and squares and other objects to make the pictures but it was easy to say how to wash your body.

summer learning journey week 1

we had to pick a country me and my group choose Australia here are some facts about aussy.

The name of the capital of aussy is Canberra.

The population of Canberra is 356,585.

The whether is Varies somewhat but is generally quite tropical. The average temperature in the winter is

The language that they speak is English.

In Literacy we have been learning about song lyrics. we listened to two song. they were by  man in the mirror michael jackson and treasure by Bruno mars . we discussed and brainstormed the song title meanings.we then looked at the lyrics and what they meant. treasure by Bruno mars is about a girl that is crying. man in the mirror by michael jackson is about war and life.

This week in writing we have been learning to make out writing interesting. I found it challenging to come up with wow words to make my writing  interesting but it was easy to  make my sentence interesting.

Things that bug me

In writing we are learning to create ideas. first we brainstormed as a class what buds us. We asked Mr M what bugged him. Mrs Mg then gave us 8 minutes to quickly write our ideas down.

how to write a good blog comment

the last two week we have been creating a slideshow to tach others hoe to write a quality blog comment. A quality blog comment must have positive thoughtful and helpful. I found it hard to find all of the right shapes. I found it easy to pick all of the colours

. For science today we have been learning to put two things together to make a product. first you have to put the vinegar in to a empty bottle. then put the baking soda into the bottle and and step away

Calendar art

For calendar art this week we have learnt to blend colours with paint  I really
enjoyed panting because I like looking at all of the colours but i found is
difficult to to get crisp lines.

Winnebagose

On Saturday me and mum went to her mum's friends birthday party we

went to Winnebagose.

First we got into the car at 6 o’clock with Debbie and we went to

the one and Winnebagose in Christchurch. When we got there

I got a raspbian coke and my

mum got a wine. After a while we ordered our dinner it an hour

for them to bring it out of the

kitchen. I got a delicious carbonara pasta when it came

out looks like the king pasta. After we had dinner I so our

waitress smashed a plate with a pizza on it it would have

been so embarrassing for that waitress. I could hear everybody

talking about the smashed plate afterwards. Then the waitress

come over and we got a dessert pizza and a coke the dessert

pizza had bananas with chocolate over top of it and 4 scoops of

ice cream. After that we went home and watch the Warriors play.

It was a great night at Winnebagose because I loved the food.

this week we are learning to write a recount I decided to write about

going to Winniebagoes. my goal is to put wow words into my writing and

making it makes sense

Questioing

In reading we are learing to be good readers. To be a good reader you ask Questions before, during and after you read something we are learning to ask different types of questions . they are answer can be found in the text. this week we looked at a photo. As a group we sat on the mat and we did questioning. In our groups we wrote quetions about the photo. were escaping or running from something next we brainstormed what they could be running from thought they were running from a war
after that we made a sarival kit.

                                         

Our First Session

In Miss G reading research group we are learning how to make reading fun. Today we identified our reading interests and set two reading goals.

Today we listened to audio books my story was about war. I learnt that in the war the black legs go on a rampage. I enjoyed this story book because people died and it reminds me of my favorite game. The audio books help me to understand the story and the words I don't know.

12.9.18

Today we looked at how our peer interactions influence our reading. We read Sophia's Big Wedding with a buddy and we used a sticky note to write down the words we were unsure of. On my sticky note I wrote: sophia, greece, Eleni, arrived, Emmanue, Katerina, and cheerfully .I found this experience fun because I got to read with a buddy and my buddy helped me to figure out the words I did not know.

Today we wrapped up our sessions with Miss Goslin. We finished our flip/comic books that we had based off an audio book that we had read earlier in the sessions. We also discussed what we enjoyed the most in the sessions and how this helped our reading. 

My favourite activity was the audio book because it was fun and made words I did not know know.

Fizz, Pop, Froth

In Science we are learning about change. When we mix or combine two different reactants substances together. When this happens a chemical reaction takes place.
